Founded by world-renowned heavyweight boxer and former world champion Carlos Takam, the Carlos Takam Foundation is dedicated to uplifting Africa through the power of boxing. Our mission is to promote the sport across the continent, elevate its global presence, and showcase Africa’s strength and talent on the world stage.

Foundation

Founded in 2023 in Kigali, Rwanda, the Carlos Takam Foundation (CTF) is a dedicated organization committed to empowering African youth through Sport, Education, and the promotion of Peace. Registered as a mixed foundation in the Rwanda Development Board (RDB), it combines business activity with social impact, while maintaining great flexibility in its operations.

Through his Foundation, Carlos Takam shares the values that have guided him throughout more than 20 years in the boxing rings of the world: respect, humility, discipline, self-improvement, courage, and determination. Convinced that boxing can be a powerful driver of social transformation, he is committed to making it a source of hope and success for African youth.

The Foundation leads an ambitious project: the creation of socially oriented sports-and-education academies, where young talents are supported in their athletic journey while benefiting from comprehensive academic, medical, psychological, and social support.

Beyond the ring, the CTF also develops professional training programs to foster integration into the job market. Competitions, gala dinners, fundraising events, and knowledge-sharing forums complete its initiatives, making boxing a true tool for empowerment, education, and global recognition, serving a youth full of potential.

Academy

Opening in 2026 in Remera, Kigali, the Carlos Takam Academy (CTA) is more than a sports facility. It is a home where athletes and community members grow side by side. Built on the values of discipline, respect, and confidence, the Academy links sport, education, and health under one roof with certified coaches, medical support, and a clear path from a first training session to international competition.

Here, performance meets belonging. From the neighborhood resident walking in for open gym hours to the young athlete preparing for a championship, everyone finds a safe space to train, learn, and feel part of a family.

The Carlos Takam Academy stands as a genuine center of excellence, a breeding ground for champions, committed to shaping the future legends of African sport: continental champions, world champions, and Olympic medalists.
